The Detailer line, without the cord in your way.
The Wahl Cordless Detailer Li #8171 is a professional cord/cordless trimmer built around the adjustable 2215 T-Wide blade, with a lithium-ion battery rated for 100 minutes of run time. It weighs 6.6 ounces and measures 5.75 inches, so it sits light in the hand for fine-line work, outlines and detail passes. An LED shows charge state at a glance and it drops onto a recharge stand with a swivel cord rotation.
- Cut a line you can actually see: the adjustable 2215 T-Wide blade is built for detailing and fine-line trimming.
- Work through a full afternoon: lithium-ion battery with a 100-minute run time.
- Never stop mid-cut: runs cord or cordless, so a dead battery does not end the service.
- Stay precise on long detail work: 6.6 ounces and 5.75 inches, with bottom housing grips for a secure hold.
- Know the charge without guessing: LED indicator reads solid for full, flashing for low, and pulsing while charging.

Questions Barbers Ask
How long does the Cordless Detailer Li run per charge?
Wahl publishes a 100-minute run time on the lithium-ion battery, and the trimmer also runs corded.
How long does it take to charge?
Wahl does not publish a charge time figure for the 8171.
Is it dual voltage for travel?
Wahl does not publish a dual-voltage rating for this model, so we do not claim one. Check the power supply label before using it abroad.
What blade does it use, and can I replace it?
It uses the adjustable 2215 T-Wide blade, the same blade family as the corded Detailer, so replacements are easy to source.
Why Barbers Love It
It is the trimmer barbers reach for when the line has to be exact and the cord keeps catching the cape. Light enough to hold at an angle for a full outline, and the stand means it goes back to full between clients without anyone thinking about it.

These are solid but don’t have the same power as the corded version.
This trimmer lives up to all the hype. Im not a barber but I cut my own hair. As soon as I ripped them out the box, it was on.
