What is a hair shaper, and how is it different from a straight razor or a shavette?

A hair shaper has a comb guard over the blade. The guard limits how much hair reaches the edge on each pass, so it thins, feathers and texturizes rather than removing bulk — and it is far more forgiving than a bare blade. A straight razor and a Feather-style shavette are bare-edge tools for skin: shaves, line-ups, necks. The shaper is the texturizing tool; the shavette is the shaving tool. They are not substitutes.

Will these fit my Feather razor?

No. Feather Artist Club razors use a proprietary blade format with different geometry. These are hair shaper blades. Do not force them into a Feather handle.

What is the Diamond Glide coating made of?

Personna publishes the name and "Diamond Glide Coated Extra Sharp Edge" and nothing further — no composition, thickness or process. It is a low-friction coated edge. We are not going to invent a material for it.

Should I buy the 10-pack or the 60-count?

Straight answer: if you use a shaper regularly, the 60-count Personna box is far better value per blade. The 10-pack is for trying the coated blade, for a travel kit, or for a barber who reaches for the shaper occasionally rather than daily.

How often should I change the blade?
