Both charge fully in 2 hours.

How much runtime do I get in total?

JRL rates the clipper at up to 4 hours and the trimmer at 3 hours, each on its own battery, with a 2-hour full recharge for both.

Does the trimmer take guards?

Yes, five guide combs are included with the trimmer along with the EZ-Gap adjustment tool.

Can the clipper really zero gap?

JRL specifies true zero-gap tuning on the 2nd Gen blade, adjustable from 0 to 3.0 mm, and supplies the gap adjustment and reset tool.
