Questions Barbers Ask

Is the X-Ergo 10,000 RPM or 10,000 SPM?

Strokes per minute. Gamma+ publishes 10,000 SPM for the X-Ergo's magnetic motor, and the two units are not interchangeable — a magnetic motor oscillates rather than rotates, so RPM does not describe it. Listings that print RPM for this clipper are using the wrong unit.

Does it take stretch blades?

Gamma+ ships stretch and tight brackets, not stretch blades. The brackets change how the blade sits relative to the housing, which changes your cutting stroke. Gamma+ does not publish a blade cross-compatibility list for the X-Ergo, so we are not claiming one.

What size is the blade?

Gamma+ does not publish a blade width for the X-Ergo, so we are leaving that figure off rather than repeating a number that shows up on some reseller pages without a source.

What do the double neodymium magnets do?

They hold the guard with enough force that it does not shift under load, and the double-magnet arrangement is designed to keep the guard teeth from riding against the blade teeth — which is the usual cause of guard chatter and premature blade wear.
