Four hours of cordless fading on one charge, in a clipper that weighs almost nothing on your wrist.
The BWAY California is a cord/cordless professional clipper running at 8,000 RPM on 12W, powered by a 2,600 mAh lithium-ion battery that B-Way rates at 240 minutes of continuous use. It is a fade clipper first: the fixed blade is flat and grooved with a DLC coating, and the taper lever covers 0.5 mm to 2.8 mm so you can walk a gradient without swapping guards. It ships as a complete kit with four premium guide combs plus specialty combs, a charging base and a spare motor cover.
- Runs a full afternoon of back-to-back fades untethered — 2,600 mAh battery rated at 240 minutes of continuous use.
- Blends gradients without stepping through guards — taper lever adjustable from 0.5 mm to 2.8 mm.
- Keeps the blade riding flat against the head for a seamless fade — flat, grooved DLC-coated fixed blade paired with a zirconia moving blade.
- Holds cutting speed through bulk work — 12W of stable output at 8,000 RPM.
- Back on the shelf before your next shift — full charge in 3 hours over USB, and it runs corded if you cannot wait.

Questions Barbers Ask
Is the fixed blade the Wedge or the Faper?
Sources disagree on the name. B-Way's own product page calls it the DLC Faper blade — flat and grooved — while some US sellers list it as a DLC Wedge. What every source agrees on is the physical description: a flat, grooved, DLC-coated fixed blade running against a zirconia moving blade. If blade naming matters for your replacement ordering, contact us before you buy a spare.
Does the California take other B-Way blades?
B-Way does not publish a cross-compatibility chart for the California, so we are not going to claim it fits other models in the line. The clipper ships with its blade installed and set.
Can I use it while it charges?
Yes. The California supports both wired and wireless use, so a dead battery mid-service just means plugging in and continuing.
What does the zirconia moving blade change?
Zirconia is a ceramic. It runs cooler than steel against a steel fixed blade and does not corrode, which matters if you disinfect between every client. It also holds an edge differently — you will not be hitting it with a steel-blade sharpening routine.
Why Barbers Love It
The 240-minute number is the one that changes your day. Most cordless clippers in this class publish two hours and deliver less; four hours means the California is charging overnight rather than between clients. Pair that with a flat grooved fixed blade that sits close and a taper lever that starts at half a millimetre, and it earns its place as the everyday fade tool rather than the backup.
