Do wipes replace the Barbicide jar?

No. Wipes handle surfaces; the jar handles immersible tools like combs, shears and guards. Most shops run both.

How long does the surface need to stay wet?

Follow the contact time printed on the canister — the surface must remain visibly wet for that full period for the disinfection claim to hold. Wiping dry immediately does not count.

Can I use them on clipper housings?

Yes, on the non-porous exterior housing. Avoid soaking blades, motor vents and charging contacts — wipe the housing, then oil the blade afterwards.
