Is this the same blade as the graphite FX8010B?

Same fade profile and same two-hole fit. The difference is the material and finish: gold titanium here, black graphite on the FX8010B. Both are built for lower blade temperature.

Fade blade or taper blade for skin fades?

Fade blade. The flat, elongated surface gives you an even contact patch with the clipper held vertical, which is exactly what a skin fade demands. Taper blades are angled for a rocking motion.

Does hypoallergenic actually matter?

It does for the small share of clients who react to nickel in standard steel. If someone tells you their neck comes up in a rash after a cut, this is the blade to put on the machine.
