Red housing for the Recon Clipper. The trimmer takes a different part.
Andis part #564678 is the limited-edition red housing for the Andis Recon Clipper, item 562257 (model LMC). Swapping it changes how the tool looks without touching how it performs — the grip and balance stay as Andis built them.
- Red is the only Recon housing Andis sells as a standalone accessory — the clipper ships with black chrome, gold and black in the box.
- Purely cosmetic, so nothing about the cut or the ergonomics changes.
- Also the fix for a housing that has been scuffed or cracked from a drop.
- Genuine Andis part, so the fit and tolerances are right.

Questions Barbers Ask
Will this fit my Recon Trimmer?
No, and this is the one thing to get right. Andis makes two separate housings: #564678 for the Recon Clipper and #564679 for the Recon Trimmer. They are not interchangeable. Plenty of listings sell this as one part that fits both — it does not.
Does it change performance?
No. It is cosmetic. Andis states the ergonomic grip and balance are maintained.
What colours does the Recon housing come in?
The clipper ships with three housings in the box — black chrome, gold and black. Red is the limited-edition colour sold separately, and the only one available as a standalone accessory.
Is there a version for the Phenom?
Andis markets the Phenom as taking interchangeable covers, but publishes no standalone Phenom housing part number. As of now the Recon is the only tool with a housing you can buy separately.
Why would I replace a housing that is not broken?
Two reasons: you want the tool to look like yours, and a scuffed housing on a $250 clipper makes the whole thing look tired.
Why Barbers Love It
Your tools sit on the station in front of every client. Twenty dollars to make a clipper look deliberate rather than stock is the cheapest branding in the shop.
