The Master, in aluminium, without the cord.
The Andis Master Cordless Clipper #12660 puts the Master's magnetic motor and adjustable carbon-steel blade into a cord/cordless aluminium body. The blade adjusts from 000 to 1, and Constant Speed Technology holds the cutting speed steady as the load changes.
- Magnetic motor with Constant Speed Technology: Speed does not sag when the blade hits dense hair, which is where fades go wrong.
- Adjustable carbon-steel blade, 000 to 1: Move through the fade range with a thumb rather than a blade change.
- Aluminium casing: Light in the hand and hard to kill on a tile floor.
- Corded or cordless: Plug it in when the battery gives out mid-cut and keep going.
- Rapid-feed blade design: Pulls hair in cleanly instead of pushing it around.

Questions Barbers Ask
What is the runtime and charge time?
Andis does not publish runtime or charge-time figures for this model, so we do not quote any. It runs corded when the battery is down.
Is the motor rotary or magnetic?
Magnetic. Andis specifies a magnetic motor with Constant Speed Technology on this clipper.
Can I fit a ceramic blade?
Yes. Andis offers ceramic and stainless replacement blades for the Master Cordless alongside the carbon-steel blade it ships with.
Why Barbers Love It
The Master is the clipper a lot of American barbers built their hands around, and the aluminium body has a weight and balance nothing else copies properly. Losing the cord without losing that feel is the whole point of this model.

Amazing clipper! It is lighter than the corded Andis Master (which is known for being a heavyweight) and it doesn't jam up the way the corded version occasionally does. It is quite a bit louder than the corded version (but no louder than most cordless clippers, the corded masters are well known for being nearly silent). It does heat up a little with extended use, but not nearly as much as the corded Master. It is still a Master, so it doesn't remove bulk or cut through wet hair, I use a separate clipper for bulk removal. Bottom line, if you like the classic Andis Master, this gives you a little more freedom in a lighter package that retains the classic heavy duty look.
These masters are monsters. Best clipper out. Took a minute to get used to the sound, but my new favorite clipper
Best fading clippers hands down
These are replacing a Andis ML clipper that I've been using personally for 20 years and was skeptical about a cordless clipper, but glad I waited for Andis to bring this out. This one is just as capable as my ML clipper, cuts easily and cleanly, is lightweight, easily maneuverable (no cord), long battery life, and it doesn't get hot while using. I've been using these for two months and don't plan to return to a corded clipper ever.
My husband is a master barber and I bought these for his birthday. He loves them and says these are the best pair of clippers he has ! The precision on these are impeccable!
