The story
From a garage in Parkland to Suite 207
Richy Castillo did not come up through a shop. He got the idea from his own barber, who suggested barbering as a career while cutting his hair - he and his dad went every couple of weeks. So he bought a pair of clippers from Walmart at the end of COVID and started on his dad's head. Then his sister, who got an undercut. Then friends, in the garage, for free, all the way through high school, plus YouTube videos and barbering courses along the way. By the time he graduated Parkland in 2024 he had built a following willing to drive over an hour for a chair. He opened Allentown Barber Studio on Mack Boulevard at eighteen, as the only barber in the room, and said at the time that he wanted to be one of the best. He is not the only barber in the room any more - the booking page now lists four.
